Enhance Efficiency with Omtec Insert Rollers for Workbench and Tabletop Material Handling!

Ideal for industrial workbenches and ergonomic workstations, Omtec Work Bench Table Top Insert Rollers™ ensure smooth, minimal-effort unidirectional movement and precise positioning of items. These rollers are non-retractable and designed for both standalone use and integration with all Omtec Ergonomic Transfer components. They are available for both ESD-sensitive and non-ESD applications.

For environments where static electricity is a concern, the rollers feature ESD-safe black plastic end caps.

Specifications include a 0.75-inch (19.05 mm) diameter galvanized steel roller equipped with steel ball bearings, capable of supporting up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg). These insert rollers are optimal for items with softer bases and/or those requiring straight-line movement.

Available sizes range from a minimum length of 2.625 inches (6.7 cm) to a maximum of 20 inches (50.8 cm). For lengths exceeding 20 inches, a combination of shorter rollers is recommended.

Exploring the Capacity of Omtec Insert Rollers

For example, a heavy item placed in a corrugated carton may indent and flex depending on the cardboard’s quality, suggesting a live load capacity of 5-10 lbs. (2.27-4.54 kg) per Insert Roller.

Conversely, the same item on a smooth, solid, flat, non-flexible plastic tray would typically have a live load capacity of up to 15 lbs. (6.8 kg) per Insert Roller, allowing for effortless movement.

Expanded Capabilities of Omtec Insert Rollers

Omtec Insert Rollers are engineered to enhance the efficiency and ergonomics of assembly lines and material handling processes. These rollers are specifically designed to simplify the movement and positioning of goods across work surfaces, thereby reducing strain and increasing productivity.

Optimal Load Distribution and Material Suitability

One of the key advantages of using Omtec Insert Rollers is their ability to adapt to different material types and loading conditions. As previously mentioned, items placed in corrugated cartons, which may indent and flex, suggest a recommended live load of 5-10 lbs. per roller. This is ideal for lighter, more delicate items that require gentle handling. In contrast, items on hard, non-flexible trays can handle up to 15 lbs. per roller. This capability makes Omtec rollers versatile for various industrial applications, from electronics assembly to automotive parts handling.

Integration with Other Omtec Products

Furthermore, the versatility of Omtec Insert Rollers is enhanced when used in combination with other Omtec products like PBT Ball Transfers, PPD Positioner Pads, FBT Ball Transfers, and PUG ESD Ground. This integration allows for customized configurations that can be tailored to specific operational needs. For example, combining Insert Rollers with PBT Ball Transfers can facilitate multi-directional movement, which is crucial for complex assembly tasks.

ESD Safety Considerations

For environments where electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a concern, Omtec ensures that all its ESD-sensitive components, including rollers with black plastic end caps, are designed to safely dissipate static electricity. This feature is critical in preventing damage to sensitive electronic components during manufacture and assembly, thereby safeguarding product quality and worker safety.

Enhanced Ergonomic Design

The ergonomic design of Omtec Insert Rollers significantly reduces the effort required to move heavy or awkward items. This not only speeds up the process but also minimizes the risk of injury to workers, promoting a safer and more comfortable workplace. Ergonomic improvements in material handling not only contribute to better health outcomes but also improve job satisfaction and operational efficiency.
